Hey RedKat - make yourself at home, but don't sharpen your claws on the furniture.

Hi I just signed up today though had visited the main area of the site often over the last year or so downloading the Action Force comics. I loved the Action Force/GI Joe stuff as a kid though the older AF stuff with the Baron and Red Shadows was before I got interested in the toyline/comics so I don't recall too much about that era. I had several figures from the AF/Joe range such as Snake Eyes, Airtight, Tunnel Rat and so on, but could never afford the vehicles so had to make do with them small lil backpack things like the helicopter one, so no AWE Striker for me :(

Other toylines I'm still interested in are Transformers (G1 toys, Classics and live action Movie stuff, nothing else) , Devilman figures (japanese thing if ya haven't heard of it), 25th Anniversary GI Joes and I seem to be steadily building up a lil Doctor Who collection especially now they also got figures from the old stuff coming out too. I'm not a hardcore collector who needs every character and every variant or anything but I get the ones I really like.

I'm still a big fan of most Marvel UK comics too such as Transformers, Action Force/GI Joe, Death's Head and Dragon's Claws.

Anyways this place seems pretty cool so I'll keep on visiting and reading and maybe post again if I have anything worthy to say :)

Hold on - let me get this straight - you are only supposed to post if you've got something to say, or worth saying?

Struggling to grasp the concept of that! :skip:

Hi All

As the norm thought I would give a brief intro into my Action Force 'career'. Been reading the forum and site for about a year and thought it was about time I joined!

Got into Action Force about the time Cobra was introduced though my first figure was a free Campbell figure which was given away in an issue of Eagle (i think) which got me hooked - anyone else remember this? Still got the figure in my loft.
I remember my friend having a lot of the Red Shadows but at the time i just bought the new figures as these had swivel arms and reading about them in Battle Action Force each week was great, though i did love Z-Force and the APC and Venon of Cobra remains one of my favourite BAF stories.
When the new gi joe figures came out i started buying them and loved Footloose (must have been something about figures in camo gear!) but was disapointed they did not relaunch other figures such as Ripcord and Duke.
I got back into collecting them about two years ago when i saw a Ripcord figure on e-bay and just had to relive my childhood. I planned to buy all the AF/Cobra figures moc but soon realised how expensive and rare these figures where so switched to the Takara ones instead as think the artwork looks really cool. I have almost completed that collection, just a few of the more expensive figures to go!

I still have my old figures and the APC (no aerial i'm afraid!) in my loft , though they have all been in very tough battles when i was younger, and none of them have survived the dreaded snapped cotch and band! If anyone knows how i could patch them up please let me know!
Its been great reading the site and looking at the old battle stories and everyones collections. It has certainly bought back a few memories!

James

Hello Carnivac and Hankster! Please both make yourselves at home.

Hankster, if you do an ebay search for O-rings you should be able to restore your dismembered figures. Crotchpieces can only really be glued back together if you still have the bit. Every IPC title gave out an Action Force figure that week - I missed it at the time. The BAF issue was the one with Quickfire breaking through a window on the cover.

Thanks for the welcome, people :)

Baron I just noticed yer Zoids site linked over on the torrent site. I'd forgotten bout that series so am downloading the comics and gonna read them later on. I vaguely recall them being pretty good and bit dark.

Oh and I liked yer coloring of that unused Dragon's Claws cover with Death's Head on it so much I did a lil 'semi-cute' pixel sprite of DH for my sig :)

Hi everyone,

I was born in Mexico City 32 years ago but lived in New Castle when i was a kid for about 8 years thats how I got into Action Force.
Later on in my life I traded my favorite figure ever Mr Squad Leader to my cousin and after regretting it for a while now I'm happy cos he just gave it back!!!
it would've probably not survived in my hands
now I live in Portland Or. USA.

I love this site!!!

the community is great, Everyone is friendly. Ive found a lot of info and some trades are in process
I specially like all the customs, so much talent here.

Thanks for the welcome.

I have seen o-rings for sale on ebay and thought that it may be something to do with putting figures back but wasn't really sure so thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately the crotch pieces went missing years ago but i do have a few figures with their crotchs intact.
