Chopper, we had a snow ditch dug along the roadside here in 2008 and last winter it caught out a few drivers who didn't realise it was there once filled with snow and levelled by the plow, making it blend in perfectly with the rest of the road. No one thought to put markers up or temporary warning signs...

Completely agree that for the most part it's down to drivers overreaching their ability. School busses here don't have snow tyres, they use the same ones all year 'cos generally the vehicle's heavy enough to get traction, but the drivers won't take risks in deep snow or bad ice. We've fetched the kids from the bottom of the hill before when the driver's rightly said "no way".

Shirley, if I had I would have changed it to something logical, like:

Who you calling Shirley?

Ah, there's that magic word again... tell me, Baron, does your 'logic' find this fascinating?

Baron: No, 'fascinating' is a word I use for the unexpected; in this case, I think 'interesting' should suffice.

Too many good McCoy quotes to waste ;-)

I think that's quite funny. A great trick if you have more balls than brains. If the ice had held it would have been great fun. They are bloody luck to be alive tho, still, its their lives and their choice.
