Would be funny if the Turkish twat who got into Action figures supplies site paid yo joe a visit. Thinking about it though I don't know if they would notice the mess he would make!

" hey yo joe can't get it right so why don't we make it up as well? lets say Action Force started in 1967 and see how they like it".
Maybe Action Force did start in 1967 Gung - just a thought for Recon story certainly will have its roots in Cold War history , from a a fanfic point of view when I went to the Non Official Action Man site today there's so many characters and vehicles screaming out to have a crack at the Baron ... unofficial of course but it'll be as good as official I hope (my comic that is )..wonder which unit formed first Joe or The Force perhaps Joe has its roots in the Korean War .. but in my story so does Action Force .. look forward to sharing it with you

I hate to be the one to point this out, but whatever moral high ground could have once been claimed in this "battle" has been forfeited over the course of the last 2 to 3 pages of this thread.....I believe the word you guys would use to describe the tone is "daft".
I feel badly that things have deteriorated to this point. I personally find both sites to be valuable resources and the sense of community is an important part of that. The YoJoe archives are the best on the web - even though they may have a few quirks.
I personally would also like to see more integration of the international (not just UK) Joe lines into the "mainstream" archives, but with the amount of framework that has been laid for the archives, that would be a monumental task; especially for a volunteer staff. So I see why things are "USA-centric" over there.
In all honesty, I seriously doubt any archival decisions have ever been made with the intention to slight any part of the collector base.

The mere fact that a flamethrower even exists is proof that someone once said to themselves: "You know, I'd like to set that guy over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough".

The boys are just venting.
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

I got this as a reply from Redclaw: You are, of course welcome to stay at YoJoe. As long as users follow the posted policies, everyone is always welcome. I have no issues with you or anyone from BFTB. I actually have no issues with the Baron himself.
My issues are with how people post and conduct themselves on toYoJoe. The Baron ran afoul of our policies and that issue is closed.

Spock, where the hell's the power you promised?

It was never about moral high ground. I'm so not wired that way. And I really don't want anybody to feel they need to pick a side.volleydan wrote:I hate to be the one to point this out, but whatever moral high ground could have once been claimed in this "battle" has been forfeited over the course of the last 2 to 3 pages of this thread.....I believe the word you guys would use to describe the tone is "daft".
I fell out with the admin at Yojoe because, IMO, he's a dick with no social skills. That's it, end of story. Everything after has been a piss-take just for giggles. If it offends you then you've honestly read too far into it.
Sadly British sarcasm very often fails to translate to the US members, I've learned that lesson a few times posting on Joe sites. I wish I knew why that was, as plenty of my favourite American TV shows use the same conventions and wit, but there is some form of language barrier there in the written word.
Well, please don't. I'm not asking anybody to boycott Yojoe. There's absolutely no reason why you can't continue to enjoy both sites every bit as much as before (unless you were following the Colouring Project updates on the Yojoe forum).volleydan wrote:I feel badly that things have deteriorated to this point. Again, I NEVER ASKED FOR THAT. That's where the misunderstanding originated. Goofateer also read it that way and now you have too. I really would appreciate it if somebody could unpick that one for me, as it's baffling me.volleydan wrote:I personally would also like to see more integration of the international (not just UK) Joe lines into the "mainstream" archives, but with the amount of framework that has been laid for the archives, that would be a monumental task; especially for a volunteer staff. I would hope not, but that's certainly the way it seems. And with Dizard's determination not to explain himself I can only speculate as to why.volleydan wrote:In all honesty, I seriously doubt any archival decisions have ever been made with the intention to slight any part of the collector base.

This was in reply to "Please delete my account" I gather? Honestly, the man has some sort of perception filter where he cannot address a direct question.Red Laser wrote:I got this as a reply from Redclaw: You are, of course welcome to stay at YoJoe. As for the second paragraph, that's total bollocks. I've been banned for life because I quoted him on a forum where he has no authority.
