Yes I Know it's a "Gobot" but....
Re: Yes I Know it's a "Gobot" but....
Impactor was a 'hi and die' character, created solely to get killed off. the Wreckers team was Furman's creation, but with the exception of Rack'n'Ruin and Impactor, did have toys. Top Spin and Twin Twist were never used in US comics AFIAK. and i don't think Whirl and Roadbuster were either...
the funny thing about the comics as well is, when Furman was running the US comic, the UK one drifted into its own continuity with EarthForce... although Furman did reference 'Deathbringer' in the US comics!

Furman was writing both Sundance he said he didn't want to have a UK continuity only one off stories as the US would take a lot of his time up. But he didn't count on the Earthforce taking on it's own storyline so he ended up with 2 continuities going at the same time.

But Deathbringer was before the Earthforce ones. Earthforce began with "Perchance to Dream". In fact, it's ironic that, if you think about it, Catilla's death is part of the official timeline, but Carnivac could never avenge him in that timeline, just in the Earthforce splinter timeline.

Deathbringer was amongst the one off stories the rest of the UK stories would have been one-offs like it but then Furman ended up creating Earthforce and linking it a new UK continuity.DAMartin wrote:But Deathbringer was before the Earthforce ones. Now that I think, the Deathbringer character went so far to appear in IDW (despite IDW's TFs being slag, it's still an achievement).

Hi all,
I've had a bit of a M-R theme day today & added some more photo's on-line.
Here's another Machine-Robo I've become fond of, Spy-Eye.. It's nice to have a jet fighter that's British for a change, another brave attempt by Bandai to try & make something different..
The Robot also works well, & unlike the seeker jets, no loose parts to go missing after 20+ years, Now I know somebody will come along & slag it off for,
A) Not being a Transformer
B) Being a war toy with no hand weapons
C) Having a "crap" name
D) Not having a proper face
or
E) All of the above
& Frankly my dear I dont give a damn

Thanks T.K.W.
It's defo' one of the best of "the G words" ain't it ?, The Tornado jet alt mode really does look the business from that angle & unlike the "seeker jets" it's painted in a realistic way, after all why try & disguise your self as a accurate F15 aircraft, then go & spoil it with a "way out" purple paint job?
Cue: someone with internet access, finding a photo of an F15 in "Way out" purple paint job

Re: Yes I Know it's a "Gobot" but....
i looked through 20 pages of google image results and the only 'wild' colour schemes i could see were a red/white/blue one for the US bicentennial, a red/white/blue one used on a test plane and a blue one used for the Aggressors.
