I read that as 1) we gave you one figure what more do you want? 2) You want what? Next question! 3) We will get back to you like never. But I hope they prove me wrong on all 3.

i thought they seemed quite enthused by the Con. we might not get a con-exclusive figure out of them, but we may get some support, tacit or actual.

i'd exect they'd send over some low-level PR flunky with a couple of cases of toys to show as part of the latest range(s) at the least, if they were going to do anything more than say 'cool, we like you funny limeys with your funny inarticulate action figures, we won't sue your asses for using copyright material'

Yeah, I'm greatly encourages by the con. response. Even if it's just a box of flyers it still makes our effort officially endorsed, which is great news. Hopefully it'll be much more than that.

The legal issue I was not expecting an answer to, they had a panel of 20+ Joe forums all with questions, I would have been very surprised if they'd given us a checklist. But what this does do is clearly show that we intend to keep the franchise alive while not wanting to overstep our bounds. It was as much a courtesy notification as anything, and they raised no objection.

As for the SAF Force, I'm not really sure of the relationship between Hasbro and the GI Joe Collectors Club who produced it. I do know that the 500 produced copies sold out in record time which to my mind is a success. I wouldn't be at all surprised if more should follow, especially if we here keep hyping it.

Do you know if the Collectors Club is affiliated with Hasbro, Jamar? I always assumed they had final say-so on product releases, but have never actually confirmed it.

well its a licensed thing just like IDW is a licensed holder, so Hasbro has final say.

Rumor has it that Hasbro is trying to do a combined TF / Joe con in the future instead of them being seperate conventions, this would give hasbro thier answer to D23 which is Disneys con
