Action Force Convention
I'm nearly always at the Action Man one, although the last one was such a let down I'm not sure if I would be back, it used to be really good but prices got too high, charging a couple hundred pounds plus for a figure that is essentially just a toy will definatly limit your market. But it used to have dealers from over europe and was good for picking up the odd item as without p&p was cheaper than ebay and you could see what you was buying.
but at that hall there is a smaller one ajoining it which in it's heyday was also used for Action man stalls as well, this could be ideal for AF and theres a good greasy spoon next door.
The scifi one which is normally on the same day at the sports centre is ok as the dealers don't really specialise in AF or AM you can sometimes get the odd bargain but it really seems to be aimed at trekkie and buffy fans. Although unrelated it is good for DVD's.
It's hard trying to find either at most toyfairs as dealers seem to specialise in train, tinplate and diecast or scifi.
The London International fair used to be quite good but I have not been since it moved to Wembley but it was good because there was hundreds of stalls so there was a good chance that you would find something.

conventions in Europe appear to be tough to do Transforce has bailed out more than once and Botcon never really took off either
I think the only way to get a convention up and running, and one worth attending, would be to combine ACTION FORCE ,ACTION MAN,G.I. JOE and Transformers into one big convention
Right now with the new 25th anniversary style figures a Five pack would be quite simple to do
Quarrel, Guacho, Jammer, Hunter, could all be done very easily
then Red Laser would also be quite easy to do
all of these are repaints as well
then getting Action Man and showing off the Mexico exclusive CGI movie for the first time in Europe would be quite cool , especially if you can get subititles to it
then for transformers you could do something as well
Guest could be
1. Andrew Wildman and Simon Furman( best choice ) as BOTH worked on ACTION FORCE, ACTION MAN, and TRANSFORMERS so it would be like a triple punch
beside the toy exclusives we could release the RED DAWN COMIC as a Convention exclusive as well too
Its the only way for a convention to work in my opinion. You got to combine all 3
sad thing is Hasbro probally would make the fees so expensive you couldnt do it sadly.
which is too bad because it would only help Hasbro out
