Yeah, I like that! Palitoy quality control does seem to be non-existant.
In case we've left you behind, simmur, there have been numerous weird and wonderful Palitoy variants over the years. General theory is that the staff didn't give a sh*t by Friday afternoon and just threw stuff together any old which way.
There is no evidence to support this theory. Equally plausible is that the production line was staffed by rabid chimpanzees.

I love the whole general idea behind Friday p.m. specials..it just makes Palitoy, as a company, all the more endearingly English. You can imagine the work force laying down tools @ the drop of a hat for tea or popping out for unofficial fag breaks
A bit like Sprocket & Co from the kids telly show Bertha..
