A couple more of yesterdays creations -
Mountain and Arctic Legs (for SWS Customs)
(ignore the dodgy toe on one of them - this will be rectified with the next ones). These are harder plastic than standard legs, so thin parts are more brittle, but they seem strong enough to me. I will drill a peg hole in the foot but this may well have to be the size for a later jointed joe style of stand as they have a tapered peg, allowing the figure to be forced onto a stand for a tight fit? I'm sure Squad Leader can hook everyone up with all their stand needs!
These are quite time consuming and fiddly to do, so folks will have to bear with me for a few weeks after any orders. Pauli - yours are going to be the first!
Next, the Protype of the
Frogman Stand!
This is the first one I've cast in clear resin, and it was still rather tacky as I took it out of the mould. I will have to have an experiment and see if I can get it to set harder, as at the minute it's slightly tacky to the touch, hence why it's a bit messy looking on the close up. I'm hoping that once I can get used to the casting media I will be able to get them to set nice and hard and more see through than this one, but I will have to have an experiment. Reading the instructions they may even need baking in the oven!!
If I do get these to set hard me and Squad Leader will have to sort out how best to make them available - it may be a matter of ordering the stands from Squad Leader and then me modifying them with this attachment, as although it fits over the peg on the stands it is better off secured with a dab of the clear resin to stick the attachment to the stand, forming a solid unit. More on these once I've had a play.
