'The Green Beret's' - That was the John Wayne one wasn't it? No never saw that one, but point conceeded.
'Demolition Man' - Technically Sly was a cop, not a solider.
'Con Air' - Don't remember any berets in that one, but it has been a while since I last saw it.
When I mentioned war films I was thinking of the one's I watched as a kid (now mid-30's), 'A bridge to far' and 'Wild Geese' for example, oh and Paul Freeman in 'The Dogs of war'. The Americans always had a side cap or a peaked cap. I may be wrong, but until recently berets were only associated with special forces, the Green Berets and Army Rangers.
As a lad I always associated berets with the British army, hence Flint was a squaddie.
This is probably the wrong place to discuss old war films, is there a thread about that?
Anyway, Flint was British, for a little while at least.
When Hasbro bought up Palitoy they kept Action Force toyline going, just changing the background a little. Flint was David Faireborn, I think he was the commanding officer? Again not the right thread for this.
I am going to buy the Sideshow Flint, the US Army tag is going to go and I may tweak the equipment, then David Faireborn (OUR man Flint) will live again!
