that's kinda what i thought: if you don't use all the Xtreme bollocks to make an AM movie, how do you make it distinctly AM? and let's be honest, AM is a bit of a cack codename. it's a great description: wow, he's such an action man. but it's lame to try to fit in to dialogue: Curse, you Action Man! you've thwarted me for the last time!!!!

Just sounds cheesy. you'd have to make it so AM is called something else (like Alex Mann or whatever) and AM is the outfit he works for as some sorta badass super-soldier...

Yeah, but Arcee didn't become a separate project, they just re-thought her for the sequel, while for AM they need to re-think a WHOLE story, not only a single character.

Yup, but the thing is why isn't Hasbro doing an AM movie if Mattel is doing one for Max Steel, who is almost the same concept (save for the nano-cyborg thing)?
Thundershot wrote:I'm not very keen on AM having his own film, besides, couldn't just about every war & spy/action film ever made be considered an "Actionman" film in some way?
Well, yeah, specially since James Bond was made as an AM figure, so in retrospect his films are AM films, and as you say every action hero is a sorrt of "Action Man", but what about the specific AM who fights characters like Dr X and Gangrene?

Mattel want a Max Steel movie made as they desperately need a popular boys action figure toy line with year in year out appeal - something they havent had... Spoke to the head guy at Mattel UK a few years ago when Max Steel first launched in the UK and got the impression they would sell their soul for it to be a success - something it was but for only a short while...

Didn't Max Steel fight a rip-off Jaws character from the James Bond films? I am not sure this will work but I don't know much about Max Steel so if they bastardise it like Transformers and GI Joe many people like myself might not know.

Are you referring to Psycho? he was Max's main arch-enemy til his death in the Endangered Species movie.

I hope they use him as the villain for the live-action movie.

I think they could make a Mission:Impossible style series for Action Man (I'm not talking the cack Tom Cruise films, I mean the original TV series). That would give the writers and excuse for him to use different outfits and equipment each episode, maybe even set it during the war for the VAM fans. Or use some sort of Dollhouse style mind wiping each week and implant him with new skills for each mission. Or just have him as some sort of lame Xtreme sports dude who happens to fight evil.

lets face it, if they did make an action man movie it would be sh*t, the original action man was great, but with doctor x & his x bots it just turned into a joke!
how could you make a GOOD action man movie?

something to note too is Max steel toys havent been sold in the US for quite a while, its still sold overseas in areas here and there but nothing in the US. Action Man in the USA is still more known, than Max Steele
