Well, I did a half-decent job on the two datafiles and Cobra Robbery pages - enough for the Colouring Project anyway, but all the text on the Hovercraft page is a right pain.

Here is my raw scan, recently rediscovered.

The problem is that the computer doesn't see red and green like we do - there's a lot of noise. Scanning with a red cellophane sheet then adjusting for that might work better, but probably not.

is it a problem making things 3d as things in the background of the shot have to have a different distances on the red / green than things in the foreground?

If you look at the console trim in black, you'll see a point on the nearest strip, about 70% along, where the image converges. At this point red and green share the same space and this is located at your screen. beyond that the red gets further to the right, in front further to the left.

All I did with the two imaged is move the camera an inch and refocus on the figure, but with the comic I moved the characters, so each looks like a cut out,

This was my attempt at a 3d pic a while back.... to get the effect you need to view the 2 images with your eyes crossed until the images merge in the middle. After a moment this central image should come into focus and you should see a 3D effect. It takes a while to get the hang of but if you get it to work it looks quite effective!! (I think so anyway)

I definitely intend to experiment more with this... these shots were taken inside so the lighting's not so good..

Cheers
Greg

As I bought hard backed volumes, and have now got the first three of the soft back, may I officially announce that if the Project is aborted to go with 100% 3D I will officially throw my teddy out of my pram and sulk. Long and hard.
