Nice wagon, Ed. I'm a big Skyline fan but just bought a Mazda 6 limited Sports. Its freaking incredible, handles like a dream. Straight lines are for people with no imagination ;-) The MX5 has a reputation for being an awesome drivers car, much like the 6. If anyone forgets the Mazda pedigree, let us not forget the RX's. Top Gear expound the virtues of both the MX5 and 6. Here's the new girl;

Besides it's a very good car to drive & very cheap to run, just a shame about the "Hairdresser" image they picked up over the years..
I dont think they really have a hairdressers image these days. Certainly the less hairdressery of the 2 seater convertibles - more of an enthusiasts car. I personally prefer the Honda S2000, but that's me, I'm a big Honda fan. Z4's are too too expensive, so I'd say good call on the MX!

Now the CC's - they are hairdressers cars! I saw a Micra CC at the weekend and to say Noddy appears to have started mass producing his car is an understatement! (apologies to anyone who owns a Micra CC. Although, in fact, no - "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??????")

I used to have a MK1 MR2, and used to get the hairdresser jokes too. Most of them stopped laughing once I'd scared the crap out of them power drifting it around and whooping ass on track days:-

Great fun little cars. I am currently lusting after a Honda NSX Targa, but it's going to take me a few years to save for one.

Got to say - the MX looks well nice in that colour. Never seen one in it before.

Sports cars are nice, but my 'religion' is 4x4. Unfortunately my boss does not allow me to drive a 'true' 4x4, so an SUV (Mitsubishi Outlander) is second best as company car. For drifting and fun rides I use the missus Colt CZ3QS, but don't tell her I do that with her car! :)

You can't get much more sexy than my car:

Image

I've got the optional tailgate that doesn't stay up, an aftermarket trolley ding in the rear door and a really great loud effect from the back box as the baffles have gone.

I used to have a MkI MR2 as well. White. Fully hairdressers car.

I think I've had more cars than you could shake a reasonably sized stick at

The new MX5's a perfectly decent car, my only real quibble is the lack of spare wheel.

Well, I think we've found all of the forums petrol heads with this thread :-D

Nice ride you got your self there Chop'!
Maxda sure know how to produce a sharp handling car, I'm very happy with mine & think this will be the car I'll keep untill it (or I) expires with old age..I tend to keep my cars for years, this is only the 3rd car I've owned since I started driving back in the early 90's.

Liked the look of the 1st model MR-2's, sort of a old style Fiat X 1/9 look to them, but better built & reliable ;-) did you guys have that removable glass roof fitted?

Bet Eddie will be going home with lots of toys this weekend...so I can see why you bought a big car Annie.

Hi Jaye, not a big fan of 4x4's myself, but if I ever won the lottery the 1st car on the list would be a fully restored W.W.2 Jeep to take & show @ old military vehicle events, & living in a large farming area, I see loads of beat up ex-army Land Rovers
about.
More news, as its made, from new Action Force!

Oh there are some petrolheads on here. I have to admit to being one as well, so much so that I brought one of these a few years ago:

It might be a bit brash but it is very good on the road and there isn't much that you run into that can claim to see it off. The downside is that everyone wants to race you  and the fuel consumption isn't great.

Ha ha! Nice odb - I always fancied a scooby, but I ended up buying a Volvo instead. No, there's method in the madness - it was a t5r Volvo - over 250 bhp and good for 150 mph! I used to race scoobys and loved the look on folks faces as my wardrobe on wheels went sailing past at reckless speeds! Only car I've ever had that would spin the wheels at 70 mph if you drive it right (or wrong!).

My mr2 was indeed a t bar. That's why I ended up getting rid - it leaked like crazy!!
