Here's :scarlett: with her ops team in MGS4.

Must pick MGS4 at some stage.
When did the figure appear on this mortal coil? Back with the 'original' MGS's?

As for the game, I bet Hideo Kajima is a forum member - maybe you could swap a couple of Guinness' for a copy. Or :stake: and his assorted clichés.

MGS4 is incredible - but takes a while to get into, usually near the end of the first act it all adds up, and that's just as it gets interesting. After three hours of one level they warn you to take a break ... Seems like they never end, depending how you play.

However, replaying the harder levels at will is too stressful. Screaming Mantis, Crying Wolf, Raging Raven ... their psychotic ravings and slick military-industrial complex titanium shells and ever-glossed words and make :stake: 's "RPGs on the ROOFTOPS!" look like a walk in the park. At least on certain occasions.

Let's build a :AFLogo: team online and banjo :enemy:

Wow! The ops team also looks similar to :af: ; there's  , :roadblock: and the other one looks like an unmasked Beachhead.

Never played Metal Gear myself.. some of the G.I.Joe comics, from the 80's, have adverts for a Nintendo N.E.S game of the same name, is this from the same series or is it just a coincidence name wise?

It was the first game ed the strategy guide had the backstory of the game and the characters.

Good catch Thundershot.

Playing COD6 today a lot of the weapon systems and their various add-ons are heavily influenced by MGS4's emphasis on simplicity and personalized weapon-mods. Also the influence of the snow-bound episode at Shadow Moses is clear.

Looking back, in GTA San Andreas the Zero character was a mega-nerd version of Otacon.

Exactly.

But you are more versed in all the character names, Beachhead was the one beyond me!

It's a hell of a universe. Early next year am going to get the early games to get up to speed. As long as work allows and GT5 doesn't come out. Not going to go mental on the COD6 prestige-ing either.
