mate check the comic archive. BAF, AF and rise of the shadows all there.
idw are currently reprinting all the marvel stories in trades, far easier than trying to collect the individual issues

I can highly recommend getting the collected works rather than the comics guys. To get a full run of the comics is nigh on impossible - it's taken me over 5 years to get this far and that's with a headstart from already having a load from when I was a kid. If it's only Action Force stories that are of interest, and not Charlies War etc, get the books.

If I'd not started with the comics years ago, knowing what I know now, I never would. Having said that, the old comics smell is lovely, and it's great to see old adverts for Weetabix and Transformers etc!

That is bad bill you lost your collection in that way I'm glad my dad hasn't taken that approach I have many comics still at my parents 2000 AD, MASK, Teen Titans (early 1980's run) etc I would be pissed off if they were all thrown out. I can definitely say our collected editions are well worth the money.

but Charleys War freakin rocks. Same with Johnny Red, Panzer G man, Fighting Mann, Invasion..... and so on ;-)

I'll go with the collected works as getting all the BAF's I already had would take years.

I'm over 3 years now - and still not quite there. And yes, a small fortune here too. If anyone wants to kick start their collection I have still got a big box of duplicates here for sale or trade.

No, i've shown some (most out of character) restraint on that front. I start with the Battles that first featured Action Force, and end shortly after it became Storm Force.

I originally ended with the last issue of BAttle Action Force, but a bulk lot I recently got has a good few Battle with Storm Force's from late 86/early 87, so figure I'll keep them. By that stage I'd moved on to MASK magazine, and Eagle. Previously I was BAF and my bro was Eagle, but once BAF became Battle with Storm Force my bro stopped getting Eagle, so I continued it for a while, along with MASK. So really my collecting mirrors that.

I may track down July/Aug/Sept 83's Battles to plug the gap between the June 83 Battles and the BAF era. (which I know you know Baron, but for the benefit of others - that was when AF first featured - June 83, then it was a few months until it became a regular feature, and that is when they had the free mini comics with Battle, Eagle etc, before starting on 8th Oct as "Battle Action Force").
