Blood for the Baron!

This is the 3rd time its been listed and its not even attracted a bid at any point. I offered cash and to collect it too but no he's had lots of offers of £400 that he's turned down. Do I now send him a picture of the money and point out all the faults or let him sweat it? Might pull out at the last moment to just to get his hopes up.

...or you could just let him keep relisting & hold on to your money, but I do like the idea of you posting the guy a photo of yourself, holding the cash in one hand, as you use the other hand to wave goodbye to him

he obviously not the brightest bulb and hasn't yet figured that he may not get what he is after, i'm going to offer him a pound and see what he says.

I just don't get these huge combined lots on ebay; they create a lose-lose situation.

From the seller's perspective they'll likely get less than they would if they'd listed items separately, or at least in small, coherent clusters (such as "set of 3 sas figures", "parts for spares").

From the buyer's perspective they'll have stuff you want and a lot of stuff you don't... but someone else probably does. So at least one buyer ends up buying more than they really wanted to and has to consider a resale of unwanted bits while at least one potential buyer unnecessarily misses out.

All of which seems very obvious, so can anyone shed any light on why some sellers do this?

some sellers, not in the know obviously, log on and see certain figures going for certain amounts and think I'll have some of that, not taking into account value of specific figures, condition, completeness or the like.

Or maybe they just wake up feeling lucky

there's also the people who don't give a rats and bung it all on in one lot and hope for loads.

i think what happens is so and so's mate down the pub tells them that it must be worth a lot of cash because it's old, pretty much the same as star wars toys, what they don't get if it isn't complete it's not worth much.
