When I buy carded Joes from someone over at JBL they only cost about $5 to ship a single fig.

Sundance, I've never been charged for currency conversion. Do you use Paypal?

Tintin, if he's not there already, please can you add onetofive to our Ebay Sellers to Avoid thread?

I've never been charged for currency conversion either, I've often been put off from U.S. sellers due to high postage rates myself..I can understand high prices for vehicles, but not for small accessories & figures.

The poor exchange rate @ the moment's been the biggest factor in sticking to U.K only auctions as well, when the £ was worth $2+ I managed to bag a Blue Snaggletooth for half the price that English dealers were asking @ the time :-D

I have, however, been stung by customs a couple of times.

I nearly was when I bought the Cobra mini series until I said seeing as I'm buying the whole set will you discount the postage. They were offering better rates if you lived in the States which I thought was unfair. Each issue had postage of about $8.45 each for four issues so the order would have been far too expensive.
Spock, where the hell's the power you promised?

yes, that's PayPal, but the money comes straight out of my account at the Halifax. Halifax charged me £1.40 to convert to Euros for Gerit's Stalker, £1.50 for the US Scarlett and Steel Brigade and for the US Red Star and US Leatherneck. oddly, the US Ripcord, didn't.

Ah, my Paypal is linked to a credit/debit card account. Maybe see if Halfiax will give you a card for the account?

it's like this:

PayPal - debit card - my account.

Visa Electron card that doubles as my ATM card.

Oh, Electron are funny, I know that lots of shops won't accept them.

You shouldn't be having this hassle though, I suggest you collar your bank manager. If he messes you about apply for another card. I'm with Lloyds TSB and they've been really good to me for over ten years.
