looking good, but definatley needs some weathering !
although you may struggle to get paint to cover the sellotape properly.
perhaps you could paper-mache over the full thing before painting ?

I've never tried making paper-mache Andy I used to watch my brother make stuff out of it he once made a trenchworks for our small Airfix soldiers it eventually fell apart though. I will weather it I just hope it doesn't take away from its look. I used sellotape initially but may try to use glue I found somethings like my table wouldn't glue together. Thanks for the positive comments everyone I wasn't sure how well this would be recieved.

I have started to improve on this by gluing together some areas of the building but some still wouldn't glue down.

Maybe the MDF maybe the better option mate. I konw Andy's used it in some of his customs to great effect. Off cuts of MDF are always really cheap as well. Before you paint it though you need to seal it with a slightly watered down PVA solution.

depends what the netting is for ? I struggled to find anything with a suitable size mesh.
If its for display then it might be worth taking a wander up the fruit aisle at your local supermarket ?
Some oranges etc are sold in black or red nets. worth a try ?

It will be for the Observation Post Andy for a camo net to go over the front.

Hey Andy, are either of these any good to you ?
the stuff on the left is plastic mesh, it is gold but can be painted if primed first.
the stuff on the right is red rubber net, which again would need primed before painting.
