i've just had this happen buying from ebay US. i was buying a buy-it-now figure and it kept doing ti to me when i clicked the 'buy now' button at the top, but when i scrolled down and used the one near the bottom where all the guff about paypal and what cards are accepted is, it worked fine.

Just done a bit of a search on this and it appears to be an ebay glitch - some people say its due to cetain words in the title like gun / knife etc after watchdog were complaining - mine was e 1985 eel w/gun...
Went to the ebay us site and didnt have any problems...

Ah, that rings a bell - my mother had a similar fiasco when she ordered a replacement paddle for her breadmaker, as it was described as a blade.

Just had a few more goes and it only errors when there is a dodgy word and im bidding from the uk site - log in on ebay.com and everything is hunky dory...

I've had a spot of bother in the past with sellers that don't ship outside the US and after allowing me to bid can't change the selling options in order to let me place a bid. Prob a bit too close to the end time but I'd have thought ebay would have been on top of issues like that as it is money out of their pocket also.

If I remeber correctly there was a charming band called Cannibal Corpse who released a track called "I C*m Blood, F#*ked by a Knife".
Anyone ever had trouble buying this off eBay? No?............just me then.
