Car boot sales here are very rare the only Chap I will see here are chap stick and other blokes

just lay off & wait for the end!!!! i never put bids on until the end, i just watch the item. he now knows someone else is desperate so he will keep @it.

I don't like bidding on listings that sellers have made private!
There really is no need for it especially now as ebay hides the identitys of the bidders anyway.
The only reason I can see to make an auction private is to stop other ebayers seeing how many times the high bidder has bid on the same sellers auctions, In other words he could have another account and has posted a high price say £20.00 (shill bidding) and is seeing if you will bid up to that rather than list it at that price (to save fees) and if it doesn't make that price you may get a second chance offer with the excuse that the winner lived in a country he does not ship too or they have decided to pull out of the sale for some reason possibly the winners kid had gone on the computer without them knowing etc.

It's also knackered the PMing - I used to contact other people who bid for Battle comics and arrange for swaps. That's probably more why they did it.
