Looks like plenty of eager customers. Also if anybody like has any Palitoy body parts that they think are not useful anymore I am always quite happy to rehome. I would send a SAE for them.

Paul I have some repro shadow helmet logos I did for SteveD if you're interested?

Thanks for the offer Matt!

I have some, though, from the transfers that you sent me a few months back.

I haven't added them as I assumed they wouldn't fit correctly over the figure's curved helmet front.

Is that NOT the case?

sorry steve, dont want to threadjack here... cant remember sending you any Paul! Ive got some larger ones ive only recently done and they seem to go on helmets ok but havent tried them on shad heads... think the ones I sent you must have been the smaller ones... can send a few across if you want to try them out, if they dont work out them come off easy enough...

but back on topic ill be buying some of these heads steve...

If the torso's have been split, all I do is drill a hole into the head and put a round head screw in. That way you can still move the head. Nice looking heads too.

Broken arrow ones always look a bit thin to me, but the more I'm looking at them the more I think the mould may have been taken from the original heads and just got squashed a bit in the moulding process.

For the Series 3 ones they are going to be like the Scrap Iron/Cobra Commander era ones, rather than the round "ball joint" ones at this stage I would expect. Just been looking at them and I may be able to tool a "balljointed" one too though, if people wanted. Just so I use the right sort of figure for my prototype - do you mean Crimson Twins sort of era?

Well Dave, that could take absolutely ages....or I could have pulled the first bugger from the Master Mould last night!!!

TA DA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Came out loads better than I had hoped for, so the lads had a good inspection....

Needed a little de-burring to make it right, but that took no time at all. I'm obsessed with not having seams over the helmets too, so I sanded those off, which makes it look a little rougher, but it is now ready for paint..

My only worry is that the material used is less rubbery than proper Shad material (it's a polymer, like they used for series 3 figures bodies) so the neck part may be a little brittle if they are played with. I'm guessing that's why Broken Arrow ones have a big chunky neck, and not a Palitoy one. They are fine for dsiplay and stuff, but it just looks a bit to me like it might snap if exposed the vigorous play of a kid.

This pic is the three different heads that I have used as templates:-

The Dufus ones and 25th ones are setting the first cast as we speak.

25th ones fit nicely onto the "spike neck" sort of fig (if they cast okay):-

And I'm hoping later ths week to tool and mould for series 3 style, and RAH "balljoint" style:

Image

Just got to get some propets now to get my mix right for making more (the second one I made was pink!!!)

Hoping that it may only be a week or so before I can offer some up for sale (may only be the Palitoy ones at first until I get the other ones in a form I am happy with). Unfortunately going through materials faster than I thought so the price is likely to be £1.50 each or 10 for £14 (including postage if you go for the bag of ten option). Still not a bad price I hope people will agree, and still just enough to cover my costs for materials

As this guy was the first one out of MasterMould he is to forever be known as Shadow One and is now a fully fledged member of Stormie's gang, and even got a go on Shadowfax for his devotion to the cause!

So there we go! A whole post and not one joke about "Casting Shadows". (DOH!!!!)
