gramophones.

I'm not too hopeful that they're going to find a niche at the show.

Annie, I saw a HMV grammophone on Sunday at a carboot, it was a red case and yours for £65. If you like, I'll give you crazy fools a call if I see it again.

Thanks to everyone who has given a response so far. It does all have practical use, so thank you for helping.

Dave.

i've always wanted some model trains just never got round to it, i know a guy who buys and sells them he makes sound effects boxes for each train and will get on the real train to record them then transfer the sounds there really good.

I've run out of room for mine, plan to build a new garage then invade it ;) Mostly vintage Tri-ang and early Hornby. Lotsa fun.

About a dozen, Eddie. Probably 20-30 carriages. Most are undergoing repair atm, getting there slowly. My Dad gave them to me when I was a lad. Most he had imported from the UK as trade restrictions meant there was naff all on the shelves in NZ during the 50's and 60's. Import duties imposed by the socialist government at the time made most things unreachable, it didn't really end till the late 70's. Enter Action Man, stage left... Also most likely the reason Toltoy's repackaged Action Men/GI Joe, as a way of circumventing the restrictions. Its probably why Toltoy's died in the 80's, foreign competition was allowed. Finally.

Anyway, I digress ... again. I love the old Tri-ang stuff. Mostly Southern and North East stuff. Also have the Britannia and a complete rake of Pullman's. I used to run over my toy soldiers with them too. When I got older we'd do range shooting at school, buy a packet of toy soldiers as targets. There, I did it again.

i was givin a choice as a child it was trains or action force, there was a lad who lived down our road matthew something and he had loads of action force toys, dad would give me 50 pence pocket money a week and i'd go to this lads house and buy 5 figures from him he had them in shoe boxes. My mum fed up with this routine went down and brought all the toys he had from him and i got them for christmas, i had a bumper christmas that year i think that was about 1984, but i always wanted a train set and i still do i wouldn't have the room for it now unfortunately.
