So what? When has GI Joe ever been subtle?

This is another tangible step towards our goal of getting the Red Shadow toyline recognised and reinstated and is proof that our voices are being heard around the world.

We are getting there, but we really do need to support this kind of project or we will bloe the opportunity. I'll be buying it, for the cause more than anything.

Its just things like that suspend disbelief for me though its entirely subjective... its like futuristic doctor who stories that constantly reference the time when they were written like 60s stories when they talk about the beatles being old fashioned...

dont get me wrong, i will be buying along with the first one if I can find a single copy but I dont see this as the first step on the road, just another nod that might turn into a bigger shake...

...or might disappear before our eyes if we do nothing but watch what happens...

im supporting stuff like this in any way I can, dont get me wrong... I will be buying it and if something comes of it ill be the happiest person around but I dont feel I have to be dead happy about anything that happens...

hopefully it will make joe fans who dont know about this stuff more aware but I dont feel this will do much else... I feel that AF stuff will only make a comeback when everything else is exhausted and the line still remains popular, the convention sets / endless releases of main characters and recent hasbro s america releases prove the point a little...

There a lot of negative comments about the latest convention set because it is a rehash of a previous years

I doubt the Action Force teams will come back, but there's definitely a growing interest in the Shadows as evidenced by BFTB's rise in popularity if nothing else. We had DDP's storyline, we're seeing more and more Shad customs, Yojoe have added Action Force to their comic archives, IDW have expressed an interest, not to mention the Squirrel fig and this new comic.

I know that each one by itself doesn't amount to much, but put it all together and there is a growing trend, if we capitalise upon it we could have a real opportunity to make something happen, certainly more so than at any other point in the last two decades - especially as we are now included in the Hasbro Q&A sessions.

This is why I backed off from the plan to create our own figures through the site. If we can actually convince Hasbro to produce and market the Red Shadows officially, then had we copyrighted the name we would have been the ones standing in the way of the project succeeding.

It's a shame that the convention set wasn't Shadow based, and I'm hearing that on a lot of Joe boards as well. Maybe it'll happen next year, maybe we could make it happen.

Im just wary of if being like the whole doctor who thing, it was away for ever and anything that happened during that time seemed to be pounced on but not all of it was good or did dr who any good... One good example was the children in need special that probably set doctor who back if anything... But! then it came back and in places it was good as it ever was...

i was just wary that the mention was in what could be seen as a jokey few panels and thats the time we get a mention...

I know what you meant TKW I have been wary but interest is growing so we can only hope it is a good step if we all want it then we must get behind this our petition to DDP fell short because of lack of interest on here
