yeah, including loss of earning from having to close, thats over $80000, thats more than £7,000!
gonna take a long while to get it.....
Then you should get to live there rent free until it's settled.

very good point porkins & thundershot! it could seriously have killed someone, so lucky we werent in the studio, even luckier there were no customers!
just pisses me off, everyone here just tries to fob you off if your a westerner.
we knocked off work a bit early & left @ about 9:30, by 1pm the next day i came in & it was total chaos!
dont know how long we will be out of action, the company that my landlords employed to do the work are gonna drag this out into a huge insurance battle, i think they are trying to claim it wasnt their fault, they told me it was caused by air pressure, because i open & close my doors too much!
heres a pics of the damage:

Jeez  ..I'm no expert, but that looks like well dodgy workmanship..thank god nobody was in the room when it came down!
Was that the only room that had had a new ceiling put in?, if not I wouldn't dare use any other rooms that have been done by the same cowboys..

luckily this was the only room!
im always careful, i have a really trustworthy guy doing all my work, but the f*cking landlord insisted their workers do the ceiling!
absolute f*cking cowboys, half inch f*cking screws! turns out the light fittings were too heavy for the beams used & there werent enough support wires. the representative from the company that did the work kept laughing @ me when i was trying to explain that air pressure from opening doors cant cause a ceiling to cave in so i had to use very simple english (he doesnt really speak any) to explain that i was going to take a piece of metal debris & ram it through his throat if he didnt stop laughing. he stopped..............

the ceiling is now fixed, but my landlord is very VERY reluctant to cover damages/loss of earnings.
it is hard to not sound a bit racist when talking about the way locals here can do business, lets just say they can be VERY ruthless, the attitude im getting is bassically that i cant blame them, the ceiling is old.
on a good note, im really happy with how my shadow customs are coming along, just wish i could get a bit more work in the toy biz, the company i was working for no longer exists, the boss failed to pay his taxes & fled the country.
