What about ? I know he had his origin story and later appeared in "World Enemy Nº 1" but those were just his debut and his farewell respectively. Did he have any role in other -era story?

Nope, but getting your own self-titled origin story counts as major appearance IMO!

The Escape Armour appeared in the 1986 annual, in the first story called cobra gold.
