Excellent stuff Jimbo, great to see you back!
Aha! Actually I know very little about taking pictures, etc. The f-stop is as incomprehensible to me as the g-spot. But when I started getting my Action Force back together from my Mum's loft (that mythical place where all good toys go to await the great day) when my son was old enough to play with them without eating them, I wanted to finish my collection. Bought some, thought about customizing, blah, blah, blah, found this site and one stateside called http://www.joedios.com, where I saw some fantastic photos of customs and regular stuff. I picked up most of my tricks from there. I liked the idea of getting some scale scenery and adding some special effects to get a photo which 'suspends disbelief' for a moment. I've seen far better customs on this board than mine, but I think many of mine end up looking better because I haven't shot them on the shelf. If I can start a 'sticky', I'd be happy to give all my secrets away, including how I got this sub underwater.SteveD wrote:if it's not giving away trade secrets jimbo - how do you get those underwater shots? Is it in a pool? They're brilliant!
Cheers Mate, you're a star. I'll get to work this evening on getting my thoughts together. I think they're are a few other members of the board who know a thing or two about digital photoshopping and the like, so hopefully everyone will put their stuff on. Maybe we could combine it with the paint colour/type recommendations, and any customising tricks (like boil & pop) and end up with a sort of manual. Anyway, I'll start on the photos for now (as well as thinking about how to do an Action Force stop-motion film!).The Baron wrote:Just start a thread, Jimbo, I'll make it into a Sticky.
