Here's my favourite's

As a kid - Battle of the Planets, The new adventures of Superman (George Reeves), Captain Scarlet (and other Gerry Anderson stuff), Under the Mountain (kiwi show, scary as hell in the style of Dr Who), Monty Python, Buck Rogers, The Tripods, Sapphire and Steele, Star Trek TOS, Sledgehammer, Dukes of Hazard, BSG, When things were Rotten, Chelmsford 123, Tales of the Golden Monkey, Dr Who, Space 1999, Billy T James show, BJ and the Bear. Man the 70's were good;-)

As an adult (barely) - Life on Mars, Smallville, The Flash, Star Trek and spinoffs, Red Dwarf, Birds of Prey, The singing detective, Firefly, New adventures of Capt Scarlet.. coffee's wearing off now.

I thing BSG05 is OK, but not brilliant. Man that's one hell of a nerdy list, and proud of it, Star Wars still rules;-)

S.A.A.B was decent enough. But frankly I didn't find it all that memorable. It doesn't even make it close to the top ten.

B5, Love sci-fi, hate B5. I found it to be convoluted and drawn out.

Top 10 Sci-Fi:
  • 1) modern Battlestar Galactica bar none
    2) Heroes
    3) Lost
    4) Firefly (would be higher if it lasted longer)
    5) modern Doctor Who
    6) Stargate SG-1 (not entirely based on quality)
    7) Terminator: The Sara Connor Chronicles
8 ) Journeyman (still rumors of it returning)
    9) Smallville
    10) Fringe
Plenty of other good one's, but that's what I've really enjoyed in recent years.

I trust none of you have seen Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea then? :levi:
No top 10 list of anything is complete without it.

Babylon 5

and...

Firefly & Serenity
Deep Space Nine (kicks the sh*t out of the other Treks)
Farscape
Buffy & Angel
Lost
Carnivale
Twin Peaks

Also fond of:

BSG (but woefully lacking in humour. When it hits the mark it's superb, when it misses it's extremely dull)
SG1 & Atlantis
Prison Break
Heroes
Tru Calling
24
The Unit
NCIS
Californication
Weeds
Doctor Who, Torchwood and even Sarah Jane Adventures
West Wing
Studio 60
Sopranos
Band of Brothers
Deadwood
Terminator - Sarah Conner Chronicles
V
X-Files (but it can be annoying)
Voyager & TNG (I suppose)
Andromeda (Hewitt Wolfe era)
Daybreak

Cannot abide:

Crusade (Nice concept but RUINED by Terry f*ckwit and his Bontempi Organ - the music was rubbish)
Enterprise (Barring Trip who was excellent and should have played Archer)
Andromeda season 5 (abysmal!)

Heard good things about:

Dexter
The Wire
CSI

And am enjoying

Fringe

Doubtless there are others. I watch too much TV...

I loved Enterprise and hate the new Dr Who and BSG. Still, that's the beauty of diversity I guess: We all love different stuff.

Favourite shows? The Sweeney, Professionals, The Saint (most ITC shows actually), classic Who, Hancock's Half Hour, anything from Gerry Anderson and most of all, BLAKE'S 7. Within the genre It pioneered story arcs, grit & character deaths yet is usually overlooked. Bloody good show!

Babylon 5 without a doubt. The story was just HUGE. And you don't have to be into sci-fi to appreciate all the skullduggery! I know a few people who watched but weren't sci-fi fans.

The new Battlestar is good... I just wished they'd named it something else. As well as the original Battlestar Galactica, I also watched Swap Shop as a kid. Does that mean that if they did Swap Shop for the 21st Century then Noel Edmonds would be raping his co-stars whilst Keith Chegwin screws and murders his wife? No. Naming such a violent program after a kids show is just... creepy. (And this from the former Vice President of a Battlestar Galactica forum!)

Babylon 5... and the ORIGINAL Star Trek.
