My PC looks to have lots of bits, but they are all a bit tightly packed in to count them. I'll therefore give a conservative estimate that it has 73 bits - 74 if it's got a CD in.

I run all five at once and never have any problems. They are all freeware. Just use google, or go to cnet.
I'd back that list. I fix PC's professionally (virus/spyware makes a lot of my employers business) and these make up the core. Beat anything commercial hands down.

I've used adaware and spybot in the past, but between Clean Slate and Acronis I pretty much haven't used any anti-virus programs in ages
