Blood for the Baron!

I always consider the postage. If its an overseas sale in particular. I tend to not bother looking if there is no Aussie postage listed. Unless its something I really want mind you. I have scored about 20 figures in the last fortnight, all AF or Joe and they have been around $2au each on average.

Here's a few things I've noticed about ebay, if someone bids early it seems to attract more bidders early. Christ knows why, but it does. After the crash less people are bidding and prices are dropping because of it. I think its as simple as that. I picked up Blowtorch, Scrap Iron and Roadblock, all complete for 99cUS and Recondo for $2.99us. Its just like shooting fish in a barrel;-)

I'm chasing a AF Silent Attack, Wolverine and Mobat. I have seen prices of those plummet (except the Silent attack) and there are a few sellers who keep their listing prices in the stupid range, 5 minutes searching finds the same thing in the same condition for a fraction of the price. I'm a bit baffled by this, as Darryl Kerrigan said in "The Castle". He's dreaming.

Here's an example, 6 hours to go. 3 Mobats and 2 Sluggers (wife would kill me, and the postage is huge because of the size); $5us.

Its an odd world.

I just wish our man johnigoe73 would take a holiday! then Shad prices would fall back to sensible levels. Like everyone else my gripe is with the amount people charge for p&p. I was recently charge £8 to get a wolverine with Hunter and an MMS from Englandshire to Bonnie Dundee, when it arrived the bloke had paid half that and posted in in a crappy old box!

Regarding P&P I never had any surprises. The key is communication. If P&P is not stated in the auction, I will enquere. If there is no reaction from seller, I don't bid. Easy as that.

OK, there were a few occasions when a seller charged me a tenner for P&P and when the parcel arrived at my door postage showed up to be only a fiver. Technically speaking seller had pulled my leg, but I agreed with P&P beforehand and found it reasonable. So why should I complain about it then afterwards?

Fair point Jaye but being a grippy (was going to type the word tight here but didn't want to set SteveD off!!!!) Scotsman it still smarts a bit!

JUst picked up a Z Force tank from the same seller for £1.04. Asked him about the chance of reducing the postal costs and was given a fairly pointed answer about cost of packing etc. He was probably miffed that it only went for £1.04.......... All because of the high postage!
