I don't mind being kidnapped, shot at, blown up and having to diffuse time bombs...But watching an opera isn't good for my health

Nah, only if someone had strafed him with armour-piercing 50 cal beforehand. Remember, he's Soviet, and that is unlikely. Skin is tougher than normal mortals.
