The rush is gone anyway. As a child I had to save my pocket money for weeks before I could afford a figure. Then spend hours in the shop which figure I wanted most. Then cycle home as quickly as possible to add the figure to my troops. Opening a blister gave such a rush! You were so proud of your purchase. Nowadays I can easily afford everything my heart desires, but when I open my parcel my heart rate stays the same. Things are more rewarding when they are difficult.
I have just had that rush again!
I won a potf romba with special collectors coin and he has gone in my display cabinet to replace my other romba:wheels:
Have a lumat on its way also yipee!

Just like being a kid again or is it that i have never grown up and am still a kid (at heart i am and always will be a kid!)

Hmmm, interesting. Good point, too.

Okay, its a million-to-one fantasy daydream that they'd ever be remade..., but if they were... would you find new ones more acceptable if they had some kind of 21st Century identifying-mark actually molded onto each new figure? Perhaps on the character's back? That way you could tell who was selling genuine originals at the car-boot sale, and who'd just opened some new ones to sell as old, ha ha!

Yeah, I know. Not gonna happen. But still....

Oh I dunno, I blew my gasket when Vikings Lego came out, resisted the urge and then snapped last year and wolfed them up on ebay. They're not vintage by any means, although they were second hand, but it was enough to re-kiddify me for a few days. And I still get the adrenaline rush and thrill of completion whenever I win an ebay auction.

Currently fighting the Lego Undead... Have... too... many... toys... Must not spend!!!

The imagery of Baron fighting the Lego Undead just had me chuckling away to myself!

Perhaps in light of the recent range of Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones computer games that's one to run by the programmers! "Baron Ironblood V the Lego Undead"!

Judging by this picture message I got from my Dad it seems that I might be having a few Zoids to contend with this weekend too...

Been meaning to say - be careful when handling your Zoidzilla, always support the tail. I was gutted to find that my Zoidzilla, Zrk, Gorgon and Mammoth all had broken tails due to the metal counterweights.

I had a flashback to this thread earlier on. It reminded me of the Tron action figures that came out when I was just a kid. They were very rare around here, but I managaed to get one. For years, I was the proud owner of a rare action figure... until the 20th anniversary of Tron came around and they reissued the figures identical to the originals! Rare no more.

So yes, if they DID reissue Palitoy's Action Force figures, (yeah I know, its just a distant daydream), they'd have to have some kind of identifying mark to make them different from the originals, in my opinion.

Ha ha ha, yeah! You're probably right. :skyraider:

Ya know... in some of those nerdy magazines, (hey, I'm among my fellow nerds here, so I can say the N-word), such as ToyFare and Lee's Toy Review, they sometimes show you how to make your own molds from existing action figures...

...anybody here any good at model making? Hint-hint!
