It was the Entertainer
Spot on Newswseller, though this was the Basingstoke branch. They must have had a job lot in from somewhere and distributed it all amongst the branches.

Up until a year ago that also had Star Wars Episode one Phanton Menace figures, i bet their warehouse is like stepping back in time.

Agree about the figures, all the GI Joe figures are long since broken whilst the Action Force ones are still going strong. I remember trying to prise open the Q force deep sea diver helmet when i was younger, with no luck, the figure is indestructable! The Toyota Hilux of the action figure world!

I think there are a couple of factors here. One, as mentioned, more collectors are after them because they are indeed re-carded American figures for the most part. So quite a number have worked their way into US collections. Most Americans didn't grow up with Palitoy, so most don't collect it.

But perhaps most importantly, I don't think any where near as many where produced on AF cards. I think they were only put out as a quick solution for a transition, and liquidation of US overstock. I wouldn't even be surprised if none of those figures where even produced for the European market. I bet they were all just re-packaged overstock. Just like the remaining Palitoy figures that ended up on incorrect cards with the wrong weapons, or even no weapons at all.

The might go a long way to explaining why certain figures are more common. Perhaps there where just that many more left over from the overstock?

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't the Palitoy AF figures available for about 3 years? While the Hasbro AF's were only out for a year.
