actually I would be super suprised if Larry knew about the Red Shadows

I hope Im wrong but since he didnt write a single issue with te RED SHADOWS in it, I highly doubt he knows about the UK villians,

Hes not a comic book reader by any means

But he's a writer and an artist I'm sure he'd be interested in how his characters were fairing overseas (I liked both Storm Shadow origin stories.. he must of known about those? )but comic creating a busy world I guess .I figure once all the pages from Battle Action Force Stories are coloured why not have a stab at writing, drawing and producing an actual follow up to Action Force storylines.. but including characters from original AF stories :baron: :eagle2: :skip: :levi: :skyraider: but separate from Cobra(Perhaps set in time period before World Enemy No 1) might be worth a shot :)

Might be worth contacting Titan Books http://www.titanbooks.com (who specialise in reprint material here in England)Over the last few years there's been many hardback graphic novels of collected comics from 1970's and 80's perhaps they'd be interested in this project (I can see these Action Force volumes as been great stocking fillers around Christmas :) I reckon they'd sell like hotcakes :)

I'd be surprised, most hardcore Battle fans were not impressed by the Action Force era. It's all about the WWII stuff - Johnny Red, Rat Pack, Major Eazy, Glory Rider, The Sarge, HMS Nightshade etc. and of course Charley's War.

The other thing is that I have a standing agreement with Rebellion that if they decide to release the Action Force strips for sale I will remove my scans, which obviously I'd rather not do. They have been very supportive of the site while not officially endorsing it, so I'd rather keep things under the radar as much as possible. That is why the Best Of book is non-profit.

I'd say I was pretty hardcore lol ..read it since about 1978. The comic needed something to enable it to keep going through the 80's and needed a contemporary war story(that's the way I viewed at the time)there was a period before all that Truck Turpin ,Hunters nonsense when the comic was at its total peak I think , I have more of a beef with the adventure stories (apart from The Fists of Jimmy Chang I liked that) I think wasn't as bad as some like to make out maybe these readers were heading for later teens by the time Action Force stories were in full swing but I think some of The early stories (Bloodhound ,Desert Strike,Tracker,Assault on Atoll Z) really worked well as well as a few the later stories (Storm Shadow..Assassin) I'd of rather had a fictional envoriment for a contemporary war story anyhow as opposed to Commie or Argie bashing (which was flavour the month a year or so before first Action Force story ..
The Hardcover Book looked ace on Jamars Youtube video a real quality product, that's why a deal with Titan sprung to mind looks very professional and a true labour of love .. but whatever Rebellion I guess have the rights.. but as for a springboard for creating a spin off universe for a line of comics its really impressive .

Well yeah, me too, I bought BAF because I was into the toys, it's what started me on comics! and yeah, the year prior to AF certainly had some turkeys, Jetblade for one, I must confess I've not read them all although I did like the look of Invasion 1984 when I was scanning. I remember Hunters SI6 and I remember hating them back then! Nothing was as bad as the post-AF run though, OK Storm Force was paletable but that Cosmic Cowboys crap? Yeesh. But I agree that AF had an unfair rep simply because it was a merhcandising move. I think the stories rock.

As far as I know Rebellion and Titan are in cahoots, as Charley's War was reprinted in the Megazine and then in hardback by Titan. Don't quote me but I assume all of the 2000AD GN's are by Titan. Maybe I'm being paranoid and even a bit selfish, but I really don't want to dismantle my site!

Not Selfish , I think its a really good thing people didn't have access to these stories for over 20 odd years so thanks for excellent site I wouldn't want it to disappear either I can understand your reasoning's :levi:
