well thier related I guess but..................

The continuity that has been going on for 20 plus years will be gone and if so then I wont be buying
The only thing that might cause this is the upcoming movie. I believe that if Marvel or whoever got the franchise, it would reboot back to the end of the Marvel run, or even The Mission That Never Was, and the DDP run would be put down to alternate timeline/dimension/reality/coffee bar.

Devils Due I believe would have brought these back again and again if they kept the title

Eventually with the new writer and the recent appearance of Action Force in Americas Elite #30 I believe we would have seen the orginal RED SHADOWS come too.

Heck they killed Artur kulik ( sadly only by TEXT and NO on screen appearance ) so they are going to have to start getting somebody in there for the RED SHADOWS
IMHO, DDP wouldn't have brought back the original Red Shadows for long, if at all. They would use Wilder Vaughn rather than Ironblood. :AFLogo: got what? a one panel cameo? DDP seem to be more concerned about their own characters and continuity.

Hey it all starts with a one page Panel!!! LOL and come on, its what, been 20 years since they even graced the comic page? LOL it also firmly established them in the Main GI JOE comic continuity which is a huge thing. Devils Due deserves props for that at the very least!

and Honestly If fans had gotten behind it more I think they would have brought back the original Shadows. Just from the interviews that were done with the new writer and all. Unfortunetlly that issue saw another drop. Its too bad because we have over 200 members and if everyone that usually doesnt by the comic would have bought the comic , that would have been enough to have made our voice heard

This is depressing news!!

I hope that they don't go the transformers way and ignore all previous continuity and start again.

I think DDP have done enough good work to have any company that gets the licence to at least take it on board.

I'm just going to wait and see what happens.

Latest Official News!!!

"Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE:HAS) has reached an agreement with IDW Publishing, creators of the best-selling TRANSFORMERS comic book series, to launch an all-new line of G.I. JOE vs. COBRA comic books. As part of the agreement, IDW will produce a new monthly comic series, as well as deluxe reprints of the G.I. JOE property’s vast comic library, which helped catapult the G.I. JOE vs. COBRA phenomenon more than 25 years ago. IDW also has the rights for trade paperbacks and graphic novels.

The first products from this deal, a new monthly comic book series based on classic G.I. JOE vs. COBRA lore, will be launched with an introductory debut issue in October 2008. Featuring all-new storylines, the comics will portray the epic struggle of the G.I. JOE team against the evil forces of COBRA, while highlighting the brand’s favorite heroes and villains that made kids of the ‘80s today’s fans."

Not really confirming if the continuity will continue or not but I really appreciate any news!!!!
