Pretty much agreed, there, Jim. One thing I did find a bit odd is that characters like Steeler and Quarrel where rarely given inflections in their speech. Of course it could be said they spoke fluent English but for the sake of the strip I would have used their nationalities more. I do suppose characters like Cutter and Kiwi never got a great deal of local dialect and wrote more like Poms because most Poms (writers) would not have known they did not speak like that in New Zealand. No internet in them days etc. Little things like that.
That by no means detracted from the talent in writing in art, a rung above Commando in my book as you got drawn into the characters and genuinely cared if they lived or died. As Jim said, the red shirts too. Like the local soldiers in bloodhound. You really wanted them to lift their game and take it to the Baron.
