Way I figure it, AF came into being directly after the war. Then, in 1983, they became a recognised global unit. f*cked if I can reconcile GI Joe though. Up till 1985 it doesn't matter.

I retconned wave one into my Codename: Bombardier fanfic, which sites between BAF "The Black Major" and the opener "Action Force". But I've always held that the range should be divided - classic historical figures on one side, new fantasy troopers and vehicles on the other.
