Agreed, the Avengers film is the best superhero movie, besides TDK lacked a certain Steve Rogers.
That's a nice rendition of Wanda, save for the wider tiara, it's kinda off. However, I also find her one of the most important Avengers. About the "Wanda becoming crazy/bad" plots, they felt old the FIRST time, since then it was like a Dark Phoenix ripoff (funny, Byrne was in both stories).
I think the problem with Shulkie going from "outgoing" to "nimpho" is a case of Flanderization: New writers look what seemed to work with a character and, trying to highlight it, exaggerate it into a caricature of the character, forgetting other details that made it a three-dimensional chara instead of an one-note joke. I remember even Shulkie herself was worried after Byrne left, because Adam Hughes could turn her comics into excuse plots to have her in lingerie and Wasp naked.
I like the addition of the sign-shield to Road Pig, but I find him kinda slim, he should have a wider chest.
I don't know if I have already told it, but I think Simonson used Bill to bring the point that being worthy of the thunder didn't mean anything superficial, a deformed being (remember: he's deformed even for his own people) can be brave and noble enough to lift Mjolnir. One of the best renditions of the well-known moral "don't judge a book for his cover". It's kinda weird that, after not having a Thor comic series, they release Thor charas in MU anyways, what kind of selling plan is that?

I don't hate TDK in the slightest but it didn't hit those same themes I thought made Avengers so good. Still I wouldn't knock TDK in the slightest. I watched Avengers last night for the 10th time and it still seems fresh and exciting.DAMartin wrote:Agreed, the Avengers film is the best superhero movie, besides TDK lacked a certain Steve Rogers.
I know the first time I ran into it it was Roy Thomas but I don't think Byrne was on the art. I'll have to check. That's a nice rendition of Wanda, save for the wider tiara, it's kinda off. Heh, I remember that, and people keep giving Deadpool cred for breaking the 4th wall, LOL.I think the problem with Shulkie going from "outgoing" to "nimpho" is a case of Flanderization: New writers look what seemed to work with a character and, trying to highlight it, exaggerate it into a caricature of the character, forgetting other details that made it a three-dimensional chara instead of an one-note joke. Interesting, not sure how you could make him wider and still maintain realism though.I like the addition of the sign-shield to Road Pig, but I find him kinda slim, he should have a wider chest.
I believe I remember reading that somewhere from Simonson. That the point was this "monster" ended up being worthy of thor's power. I thought it was cool.I don't know if I have already told it, but I think Simonson used Bill to bring the point that being worthy of the thunder didn't mean anything superficial, a deformed being (remember: he's deformed even for his own people) can be brave and noble enough to lift Mjolnir.
