I'm here but I've been busy. I came back to see how things were going only to find the forum totally spammed up.
I appreciate that most of you have probably lost interest in the site / forum now, but real life takes priority. I won't bother making anymore promises as such until everything has actually been completed.
The freeware I had someone install to stop the spam has been stopped. That being, the project was scrapped and the anti-spam program isn't functioning anymore.
So what I need is a few moderators to help me keep the forum clean. If no-one wants to do that thats fine, I'll just close down the forum until I can find another anti-spam program and the site has been completed.
You can e-mail me at admin@gijoeuk.com but until the spam issue gets resolved I am taking the forum off line.
see thats what I am talking about, I just dont get why people dont come to a site like this that has already been established and say HEY instead of making brand new site Ill just make yours better!
this happends all the time too. Its a lot of work doing a site why dont people just go to an existing site and help make that one better.
I didnt start my own site for GI JOE EXTREME I found a site that needed something and I said HEY Ill contribute
Bloodforthebaron.com is the definitive UK ACTION FORCE/GI JOE SITE, while it does lack on the later Marvel /Hasbro stuff I would love to see the guys from GI JOE UK come here and do what they planned with that site.
United we stand strong, seperated we fall, GI JOE UK is just another tragedy that could have been avoided had they come to the baron first!
The problem is as Alex stated he has real life things to work out, i for one would of appreciated more communications on the matter, but the fact i have my own issues in my own life stop me from being too contributing and starting up my own site dedicated to GIJOE or Action Force.
I'd like to point out that just because a site exists.. doesn't mean to say that there can't be affiliates or similar fan sites and just because one starts up.. doesn't mean to say it is out to wipe out the competition.
I'd of liked to have been a part of GI JOE uk and helped it, and believe me I did try with emails and constant forum posting.. but the lack of communications and the fact that Alex has put most of the work on the backburner due to more important things doesn't help matters.
From what I gauged Alex was very insistent on his site being an archive to Action Force toys and merchandise.. he was very very polite and had a random sense of humour and was good to talk too. Not only was he enthusiastic about doing the site he wanted helpers and support..
I just don't think he got enough support or help to aid him in his creative ideas.
Just because he's taken it offline doesn't mean to say he won't bring it back at some point when the main forum is up and running.
