irish coins help
greetings from accross the pond,i was going threw some of my boxs and found some forign coins I recieved while working at a hotel, I think their Irish, they say Eire on one side with what I think is a harp, anyways I cant seem to figure out what type of denomination they are,so I thought id ask here, anyways ill discribe the coins, one is silver with a fish and 10p,one is brown with 2p on it,a gold colored on with a horse and 20p,a copper one with a bird and 1p and finally a solver with a bull and 5p. anyways I dont know what the p stands for and i cant catalog them till i find out, thanks.
Re: irish coins help
The "p" is "pence". There's a hundred of them in a pound.
Sounds to me like these will be old currency, as Ireland is now using the euro.

There is something called google!
Input "eire p harp coin" ->
It was not until the reign of Henry VIII that Irish coins bore the harp and, ... of the coins was modified with the Irish language name of the State, "Éire", ... the "P" on the coins meant penny or pingin (the Irish word for penny). ...
