Not so depressing was that he walked into a pub I was in about two weeks later!! I informed him that he was deceased according to the local myth. He thought it was hilarious! Next time I saw my mate I gave him a slap and told him to check his bloody facts next time!
I'm sure our brothers will return soon, let us not give up hope yet!!
i had kinda an opposite experience.
i ran about with twins when i was a kid, Barry and David, but my parents split and i ended up in Scotland with my mum.
we were 3 teraways always up to mischief, more like brothers than friends.
when the parents stopped actin like prats and i was allowed back home the first thing i wanted to do was meet up with my old pals but wasnt allowed, no reason given just "no".
couple of years later ran into 1 of them by chance and ran up to him "Barry mate, hows it goin?"
"Barrys dead, i'm David" he screamed and chinned me.
i was devastated, turned out Barry had died from leukemia and no-one told me incase it upset me.
the whole family knew, even my mum but they said they did it for the "best", have never forgiven them for it.
met David a couple of years later and explained what happened and we sorta made up but the friendship was gone.
his family had tried to contact me for the funeral and he thought i knew but just couldnt be bothered.
sorry this is a bit depressin but havent thought of this in years and it just hit me like a flashback readin that post.
