Is the BFTB snow effect crippling your PC?

If it's significantly disprupting the community, I'll have to remove it.

it's being really intermittant for me. sometimes it's there, some times it's not. sometime's it's falling, some time's it's stuck. like now...

Is there any way to switch it off permanently? It re-enables as soon as I open another page. I know its asking a bit, but I'd prefer to not cop a finger waggling or nasty treatment from a Wampa.
