I got myself a "DEATH IN SOUTH AMERICA" page from Ebay. It's really cool to see the work up close and appreciate just how much work went into those panels! I think his male characters sometimes looked a bit like Barry Chuckle, but he managed to convey action superbly. The Kraken Wakes wrote:I got some original BAF art of his from ebay, last page from the invasion london story and I love it...

Thee Coop Man Legend! he even does a few drawings for ITN these days .. not sure he's actually fond of Action Force prefers working on Johnny Red which is understandableas it's a classic .. I loved One Eyed Jack like Dirty Harry for kids (scripted by John Wagner a proto Dredd if ever there was one) but woldn't it be great to get him onboard here just fora few book covers or whatever he really bought those characters to life as did Watson,Campion and Vanyo .

Sounds great. He certainly kept the frames lively. The "Chuckle" thing is right tho', a lot of the characters looked the similar what with the enormous asses n'all, these days it would seem he was taking out his loathing of "buckethead" on the art ... or something. Maybe it's just a northern humour thing.Crimson Rage wrote:I got myself a "DEATH IN SOUTH AMERICA" page from Ebay. Having started re-reading Charley's War there are a lot of little details that suggest Campion, Cooper and Cam Kennedy took a lot of notes from Colquhoun.
But then Geoff C. and Joe were about the same age after all ...

I picked up a couple of AF panels off ebay too a while back, one of them is a really neat Claymore with Shads getting nailed by a Panther (cue SteveD)
I'll try dig em out, really need to try and find some nice framing for them (or one as they are big)

To reply to Quickfire , Coop would draw the things that they couldn't film for example events in court or arguments between footballers and their managers .. he used to do pretty good Sven as far as I remember ..talking of football Cooper also produced a strip which was a spoof on Roy of the Rovers in Private Eye .

Great story: esp. the early phases where they are on their own and get the copper on side.jonesy wrote:Claymore has always been my favourite story as it features the SAS and drawn by John Cooper. So I'm quite proud of the BAF original Claymore pages that I have.
