Good news for FLASH GORDON fans!

Post by Space Commander »

I just found this on the Ardden website. Seems the delay was caused by illness. I'm glad everything's back to normal!

"- FLASH GORDON -
BACK ON TRACK!!!
ANOTHER 18 FLASH ISSUES TO COME OVER THE NEXT 2 YEARS!!!

Hi Flash Fans!

Firstly we'd like to apologise about the lack of updates on this very website -- things have been very hectic since we returned from the NYCC.
New Licenses -- some studio and creator owned books are coming too, and FLASH GORDON is well on its way ... with issue 5 hitting the shelves in the next two weeks. But we can assure you this issue is nothing short of spectacular in both the art and story dept.

Paul (Green), our pride and joy at Ardden, has been rather ill recently but has now recovered to full health and is gearing up to tantalise you all with yet more great art on Flash Gordon. Issue 6 is almost complete and you'll be pleased to know as from the end of April Issue 5 has been sent to the printers.

Flash still reigns in in the top 160 comics sold each and every month via Diamond Comics and still remains the best loved sci-fi hero from the golden age. And we're extremely proud that our first book has had such an impact on the comic book community.

Issue 5 is coming with some extra hidden surprises! To Celebrate Flash's 75th Anniversary we have added a brand new cover into the mix. These will be sent out to retailers as a 1:100 variant and only 100 copies have been printed. It's a real rare gem and we want to support retailers who have stocked the book from issue one. Retailers who have subscribed to the first look program will receive 2 copies of this rare cover -- so give them a shout.

Issue 6 is almost complete and we'll be going to print in the next few weeks. AND THEN...

... FLASH GORDON... a brand new story arc - that's being officially announced in a few weeks - and continuing after the events of issue 6. We kid you not... FLASH GORDON will never be the same again."

Cheers,

Oh yeah, sorry about the lack of a link...

You can get them from general comic shops such as Planet ACE Comics, Red Hot Comics, and Forbidden Planet... but you'll have to keep in mind that as a new publisher with a small staff and a barely established process, you kind of have to wait occassionally for the latest issue to show up, which I'm sure Jamar will agree is simply par for the course when you're only just starting out.

But the comic is AWESOME... true to the eariest vision of Flash Gordon, but with a thoroughly modern slant  . And in issue 5, he gets his classic red uniform with the gold doubloons around the neck. COOL!

I have at my parents a Flash Gordon annual un-credited so I don't know if it was by Al Williamson he wasn't dressed like that he wore a red top with yellow studs in it
