I think you are referring to General Flagg or Austin at the end there but you were the first right answer

I was referring to Flagg. I think AF is his direct counterpart ( looks like the TV version of the general and has the name). For me, Austin was not a Joe, because he wasn't so supportive to the team as Flagg.
