movie question

trying to find a movie i loved as a kid.
all i can remember is it was about giant spiders.
meteors land at the beginning and when they crack open are full of diamonds and wee spiders which then grow to monstrous proportions.
any ideas???

Anyone ever seen an animated SCI FI movie where, and bare with me, they lose a little kid with white hair on a strange planet and he gets the top of his head caved in my a weird beeky type alien? The crew of the spaceship looking for him includes a strange friendly old man. The kid gets rescued at the last minute, whilst being attacked, but for some reason he gets sent back in time? They then discover the old man on the space ship with them is in fact the little kid who has obviously grown old since the time travel.

When I was a student I took LSD a few times so I may have imagined this.
