Och, Aye.

Well I went, I saw and the verdict is..................... I really don't know what to make of it. Ultimately it is good but, there are a few buts. The only thing I really didn't like is the bloody camera wobble all the time. it really didn't help. Ultimately a satisfying film. does it rack up against the Wrath of Kahn or First Contact? Not on your nelly. But still a good film, well worth a look and worth getting on DVD when it arrives.

THERES A KIWI PLAYING McCOY TOO. He was an elf once you know. Maybe he should have a been a green blooded son of a Vulcan. ;)

I don't know if it was mentioned but the whole Pike wheelchair thing? Homage. Yup, homage. Won't say any more so as to spoil it for other prospective viewers.

Well, its good night from me and good night from him.

Karl Urban wasn't an elf in LOTR. he was a Rohan rider. he was also Caesar in Xena: Warrior Princess, Cupid in Hercules: The Kegendary Journeys, the Russian sniper bad-guy in Bourne Supreacy and John 'Reaper' Grimm in Doom.

That's right, Eomer. I remember now. Great job too, tho Wormtongue stole the show.

Yes! That's it exactly, Chopper... Precisely what I was hoping for with this thread; Trekkers taking turns to post tributes they had spotted in the new film. (No offense, Sundance, but it felt like we two were hogging all the fun!)

That scene is one of my favourites in the whole film. Love that uniform!

And the cool thing is, none of the tributes are integral to the story, which means that new Trekkers and non-Trekkers can watch the film and enjoy it without having to know what the significance of (for example) Jim's apple is

Thanks again, Chopper. :chopper:

Any more?

There were references by Scotty about Admiral Archers Beagle too. Has that been mentioned?

It has..., but that's cool, mate. I'm just happy that someone else is joining in.

I think I'd spotted everything that's been mentioned so far, but I didn't want to list 'em all myself. I'm glad others are having a turn, too.

Admiral Ackbar had a Beagle??? Cooolllll! Oh, wait, just re read that. I was wondering how Fred Bassett would have managed on Mon Calamari.

I'm off to see Star Trek tonight, and am oblivious to most things Trek, so no doubt I will notice very little of the hidden stuff. Looking forward to seeing Chewbacca though.
