the main thing is i got my money back!

yah! more money to spend on action force.
I love that! I think like that too - whenever I've been swindled, and then got my money back, it always feels like money that needs to be re-spent. Even though it was mine, and I've just got it back, it feels like a "bonus"! Bizarre.

my missus has been at WAR with paypal since xmas.
bought a remote control robot for my wee lads xmas box which arrived without control.
contacted seller who claimed the control wasnt in the listing so it wasnt his fault.
he backed down and offered a refund minus postage as long as she sent robot back which we agreed even tho the postage was quite expensive. he then informed paypal he never recieved the robot and supplied them with an incorrect tracking number even tho he signed for the package. paypal then sided with him and deducted money from my partners paypal account. we contacted paypal by phone and spent about 2 hours trying to sort it, gave the correct tracking number etc. we were informed that we had won the claim and could we forward outstanding money to HIM, even tho we still havent been refunded when they took money from her account they want US to give him more money. WANKERS.
sorry rant over

Unbelievable.

Best thing you can do is put it to them in writing, as you have no record of anything that was said over the phone.

State the facts as they are, in sequence in events.

Outline the sellers duplicity, to avoid misinterpretation.

Reiterate the unresolved issues, along with clear instructions as to how you would like the matter resolved.

Demand a response within 7 days, or you will take legal action.

yeah i think i'm lucky getting this money back.

I know paypal are wankers as you say, and ive had problems before with them. I think whatever their decision is you havent got much chance in changing their minds. Regardless of whos right.

Couple years ago i sold a phone on ebay, some guy from singapore but it and paid with paypal. I was busy with work at the time, and though it was packed to go, i hadnt posted it for a few days.

I got an email from paypal saying it had been paid with a dodgey credit card, and they took the money back out of my account. No questions about whether i posted the phone or not. Luckily i hadnt so didnt loose out, but if i had...no idea what would have happened.

Idiots.

i bought some crimson cobra stuff from a guy in the states just over a year ago.
sat up all night to make sure i won the bid and went way over my limit.
parcel never arrived. i contacted seller who claimed it had been returned to him as there were problems with the insurance.
this seller had thousands of positive feedback so i wasnt too worried. parcel never arrived. checked online tracking number, nothing. contacted seller again who stated parcel was sent. contacted parcel force who said the tracking number only works when it has entered britain. left it a while-still nothing. contacted seller and informed him i was gonna make a claim which he was happy with. i actually struck up a good friendship with the guy and didnt feel i was being ripped off. still nothing. then he contacted me asking why i was ripping him off, that he had checked the tracking number and it was sitting in the sorting office in belfast. contacted them and they stated parcel had been there for over a week and had been sent back to the states.
the dude at parcel force said he'd contact a friend in customs and try and get it sent back to belfast which he did. about a week later got a phone call stating parcel had arrived. got a taxi to the sorting office which cost about £20 then had to pay a handling fee or some sh*t another £40 on top of what i'd already spent. got home only to find i'd won my claim from paypal and had been refunded all my money. i contacted the seller who informed me he'd had his account frozen and the money deducted from his account. because of all the sh*t i'd been through he only asked for half the money back. i tried to contact ebay and paypal to explain what had happened but they werent interested. WANKERS.
