(Image Heavy) Meccano AF catalogue

Post by Dave Tree »

For your viewing pleasure, I took some shots of an early French Meccano Trade Catalogue featuring the first series of Action Force.

It's picture heavy, but there are some nice close up's of prototypes seen in previous Palitoy Trade Catalogues.

Enjoy,

Dave.

Not that I've been able to find out so far, but hopefully these are closer shots for some of your awesome customs :)

Yes, its his gas mask canister and entrenching tool. Seems the model makers at Palitoy made the prototype more accurate. Anyhow, the actual figure and later Red Shadows has this equipment molded onto his back.

I wished they'd made his helmet removable. Used to have one of these fellas....when I was a kid that is! Its like a monkey pissing gold now trying to find a loose one! Nevermind!

All of the catalogues submitted so far can be found in the main archives:

I'm not sure if Jonesy ever upped the Action Man stuff, or just offered to.

Guy's the term Meccano Af has been used before but not sure what it means. Is it the company who distributed the toys in France?
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?
