Last I recall he had assumed control of the Shadows and was planing to destroy Cobra. Have a look at "Revenge of the Red Shadows". Great story too.

He was last seen fleeing for his life with Storm Shadow hot on his heels...

I did a thing on him a while back: http://www.bloodforthebaron.com/phpbb2/ ... =18&t=1317

The proposed Complete Works Volume II focuses on the rogue Red Shadow storyline.

Thanks for that link Baron - I'd never read that far back into the posts, and not yet re-read many of the tales - I now can't wait to either get the Complete Works, or get my comics into some sort of order enough to start reading!

It wasn't until I re-read the stories recently that I realised that REVENGE OF THE RED SHADOWS was tied into the end of ASSAULT ON ATOLL Z. With :major: and :laser: drifting on their coconut raft in the Pacific, they were lucky enough to avoid the Red Shadow purge instigated in WORLD ENEMY No. 1.
Nice touch!

Vol 2 works out so neatly. I had to flesh it out with the additional Q Force strips at the front which gives us :baron: and :major: in Sea Fury and :laser: in Sealion, establishing the characters prior to Atoll Z and World Enemy.

I've probably gone over it too many times... ;)

If you want to go off of original cannon. He is also "Wilder Vaughn" leader of the Red Shadows in the last incarnation of the GI Joe comic.
