Chicken or the egg

Post by scoobydie »

Been thinking about the Q Force boat and seeing what bits I might need for a remake.

The conning tower I`ve just about sorted, on a closer look the computer is actually the one used on the J.U.M.P platform.

Who had the original computer design idea then? Palitoy or Hasbro.
I thought that these designs would have predated the original Joes?
Was someone stealing ideas???

The Jump Jet originates from 1982. Palitoy released the Action Force team concept (Z, Q, etc.) in 1983.

So it is not unlikely that Palitoy borrowed some ideas, bits & bobs from Hasbro. Hasbro was first.

Fair point with the release dates, but.....
Would the prototypes have been designed way before the actual roll out of the range.

I'm thinking Hasbro must have has these items first. The Missiles are just repainted MMS missiles.

Yep, and the backpack came with Leviathan. However, we are talking about the unreleased Swordfish prototype here.

As regards prototypes wouldn't Palitoy, and Hasbro cannibalise each other?
