auction forum

Post by porkins »

as ebay fees keep going up who on here thinks it would be a good idea to start an auction forum on here
the idea being in the title you put the item name plus an end date ie red shadow end 25th sep 10pm
then list the item with pic and start price#
then people reply with there bids could use bids of say 50p £1 £1.50 and so on so no bidding 51p £1.01 £1.51 and so on then htop bid at time of end date wins
seller can the send pm to arrange payment
then you have another forum for people to leave feedback for seller
sellers name in title with feedback
if people dont pay you another forum to name and shame them but as people on here seem to sell stuff with no probs anyway might not be neaded
BEST THING IS NO EBAY FEES

It would need a massive disclaimer from the Baron management though.

this sounds good but may lead to problems amongst the group
bidding against each other we may piss each other off
i much prefer trading

That is a good point. Any disagreements would be a major headache to moderate.

you put the first topic on the forum with rules and site disclaimer any deals that dont workout would not be the websites fault it would be no diff from a normal sale only you may get more or less than what you wanted for item, on another site i use called www.bugnation.co.uk runs at the same format as this site hardly ever any probs and you soon get the same sellers useing it again and again who you know you can trust thats why you have a leaveback forum for sellers, remeber if someone dont pay you can always offer to the next then leave a feed back in a non payer topic, any way it only uses the same trust as any other deal on here so whats the prob

Like the idea, but I think the Baron would have blood on his hands at the first disagrement;-)

Being I'm at the arse end of the universe and postage of most of this stuff is beyond rediculous could we not just have an auction anouncment area? Even ebay names etc would be useful. Being as I have a bit more inclined to trust you blokes over the average ebay punter, getting stuff safely to Aussie is a bit of a trick sometimes you see. I'm sure other out-of-pommielanders would be in the same boat.

BTW half of the stuff you bloke's have in your recycle/trade bins I'd give my left ball for. It was near imposible for me to get in the 80's and it ain't much differnt now;-)

I just found an advert for this site: http://www.swoopo.co.uk

Does anybody know if it's legit?
